Daxor Corporation is a medical device manufacturing company that provides additional biotechnology services such as sperm refrigeration and blood refrigeration through its wholly-owned subsidiary Scientific Medical Systems Inc. The company was originally established in New York as a medical instrument company in May 1971 to provide sperm refrigeration services and continues to provide these services through its wholly-owned subsidiaries. In October 1971, the medical device company changed its name to Idant Corporation. In May 1973, Idant Corporation changed its name to Daxor Corporation.
