Datavault AI Inc., was originally incorporated as a limited liability company in Delaware on July 23, 2010. The company believes that the future of audio technology lies in wireless devices, and WiSA is well positioned to provide best-in-class immersive wireless sound technology for smart devices and next-generation home entertainment systems. Historically, the company has sold modules that wirelessly transmit and receive audio directly to speakers. At the end of 2023, the company introduced a new wireless technology, WiSA E, which is software-based and can be used with standard Wi-Fi chips. In addition, the company plans to license the proprietary software technology currently embedded in wireless modules to other companies that can then embed the technology in Wi-Fi-enabled smart devices. The wireless audio market segment that WiSA focuses on consists of scalable multi-channel solutions with low latency levels sufficient to sync with video. The term multi-channel refers to the use of multiple tracks, using multiple speakers to rebuild the sound field.
