Founded in Washington in 1969, Data I/O Corporation is a global market leader in advanced programming and intellectual property management solutions for flash memory and flash memory-based smart device manufacturing. Data I/O designs, manufactures and sells programming systems for electronic equipment manufacturers, especially for high-capacity users in high-growth areas such as flash memory and microcontrollers. Today, almost every electronic product contains one or more programmable semiconductor devices that contain the data and operating instructions necessary to properly operate the product. Data I/O's mission is to provide high-value systems, software and services to the rapidly expanding programmable semiconductor market by providing a software-rich programming platform for content delivery. These programmable solutions are used in devices such as smartphones, MP3 players, gaming systems and automotive electronics. These solutions (some of which include intellectual property management, secure content management and process control functions) enable data I/O to meet the demanding requirements of the electronic device market, where application and intellectual property protection are critical to the success of the company's customers. The largest customers of Data I/O are heavy users of programmable semiconductor devices, including original equipment manufacturers (" OEMs ") and their electronic manufacturing services (" EMS ") contract manufacturers in the fields of wireless, consumer electronics and automotive electronics. Data I/O was established in Washington State in 1969, and its business was established in 1972.
