Chord Energy Corporation was incorporated under the laws of the State of Delaware on February 25, 2010 as the holding company of its predecessor, Oasis Petroleum LLC, which was formed in February 2007 by certain members of the senior management team and certain private equity funds, and is a Delaware limited liability company. Chord Energy Corporation is an independent exploration and production company focused on the acquisition and development of unconventional oil and natural gas resources in the Montana and North Dakota regions of the Williston Basin. The company is currently exploiting the huge resource potential of the Bakken and Three Forks formations, which are spread over most of its acreage. The company believes that the location, scale and concentration of acreage in its core project areas create opportunities for the company to realize cost, recovery and production efficiency by developing its project inventory on a large scale. The Company's management team has a proven track record of identifying, acquiring and executing large, repeatable development drilling programs and has extensive Williston Basin experience.
