Auburn National Bancorporation, Inc., incorporated in Delaware in 1990, is a bank holding company registered with the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System under the Bank Holding Company Act of 1956 (as amended), and in 1994 took over Alabama's predecessor, Auburn Bank, the principal office of the Alabama Member Bank in Auburn, Alabama. The company and its predecessors have managed banks since 1984. As a bank holding company, the company can expand financial services in accordance with the bank's applicable laws and regulations. The holding company structure also provides greater flexibility both financially and operationally. The bank has been in operation since 1907 and currently has its main business in East Alabama, which includes Lee County and the surrounding area. The bank has been a member of the Federal Reserve System since April 1995. The bank's primary regulators are the Federal Reserve and the head of the Bank of Alabama. The bank has been a member of the Federal Home Loan Banks of Atlanta since 1991.
