Founded in 1980 by four key managers of the Boise Cascade Cabinet Division through a leveraged buyout of the division, American Woodmark Corporation was privately held until 1986 when it became a public company through a registered public offering of common stock. The company manufactures and sells kitchen, bathroom and home organization products for the retrofit and new home building markets, with products sold nationwide directly to home centers and builders and through a network of independent dealers and distributors.
