The Company is a diversified manufacturer, processor and distributor of SBQ steel and structural steel products, with production and commercial operations in the United States, Mexico and Canada. The Simec Group believes that in 2011 and 2012, it was an important producer of SBQ products in the United States and Mexico in terms of sales volume. The company also believes that in terms of sales volume, it was an important producer of structural steel and light structural steel products in Mexico in 2011 and 2012. The company's SBQ products are used in a wide range of highly engineered end-user applications, including axles, hubs and crankshafts for automobiles and light trucks, machine tools and off-highway equipment. The Company's structural steel products are primarily used in the non-residential construction market and other construction applications. The company provides high value-added products and services through its strategically located plants, focusing on the specialty steel market in Mexico and the United States.
