New England Realty Associates Limited Partnership, a Massachusetts limited partnership, was formed on August 12, 1977 as the heir to Five Realty Limited Partnership and filed for protection under Chapter 12 of the Federal Bankruptcy Code in September 1974. Bankruptcy proceedings were terminated at the end of 1984. July 2004 As permitted by the partnership agreement, the general partnership extends the partnership until the termination date in 2057. Partnerships are permitted to engage in the business of acquiring, developing, holding for investment, operating and selling real estate. The Partnership, directly or through 25 subsidiary limited partnerships or limited liability companies, owns and operates a variety of residential buildings, apartment units and commercial properties located in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
