Barnwell Industries, Inc., was founded in Delaware in 1956. Water Resources, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, drills wells and geothermal wells at various depths in Hawaii and conducts water quality monitoring, installs and maintains pumping systems, and plays an important role in the sale of Floway pumps and equipment in Hawaii. Water Resources owns and uses a Spencer-Harris mobile rotary drilling rig with a drilling depth of approximately 7,000 feet, an IDECO H-35 rotary drilling/workover rig, two GEFCO SS-40-T mobile rotary drilling rigs, a National T-32 rig and other supporting drilling equipment. Water Resources also owns and uses a Walker Neer P-15-A and a Franks double-rotor service platform for disassembly, installation and maintenance of deep sets of pumps. In addition, Water Resources leases 3/4 acre of maintenance facilities in Honolulu, Hawaii, 1 acre of maintenance and storage facilities with 2,800 square feet of interior space in Kawaihae, Hawaii, and 1 acre of equipment yard in Waimea, Hawaii, while maintaining inventories of drilling material and pump supplies.
