The Company's principal subsidiary, The Farmers & Merchants State Bank, is a local independent community bank that has served primarily Northwest Ohio, Northeast Indiana and Southeast Michigan since 1897. The Farmers & Merchants State Bank is engaged in general commercial banking and savings business, including commercial, agricultural and residential mortgages and consumer lending activities. Another subsidiary of the company, Farmers & Merchants Risk Management, a captive insurance company established in December 2014 and located in Nevada, was dissolved in December 2023.
