In an unprecedented display of cinematic prowess, Universal's "Wicked" and Paramount's "Gladiator II" are set to shatter box office records this weekend, with early indications pointing to a combined opening weekend gross of over $200 million. "Wicked," the highly anticipated musical adaptation, has already amassed an impressive $19 million in previews, while its co-headliner, "Gladiator II," is on track to rake in around $65 million. This dynamic duo promises a record-breaking Thanksgiving weekend and a potential resurgence in musical adaptations and historical epics.

The star power of Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo has undoubtedly contributed to the buzz surrounding "Wicked." Grande's massive fanbase and Erivo's critical acclaim have drawn audiences to early screenings, generating the impressive $19.2 million in previews. The film's marketing campaign, with its distinctive pink and green color scheme and over 400 brand partnerships, has also played a significant role in driving anticipation. Early fan screenings and preview showings have fostered word-of-mouth marketing, further bolstering the film's appeal.

The "Glicked" phenomenon, pairing these two highly anticipated films, has created a perfect storm for a record-breaking opening weekend. Both films appeal to distinct audiences, with "Wicked" drawing in a wider female demographic and "Gladiator II" attracting action enthusiasts. This strategic release strategy has created a buzz that could translate into a $300 million total for the Thanksgiving weekend, benefiting both films and theater operators alike.

I've heard that Universal Studios Orlando is set to open a new park in May 2025. Should I invest in CMCSA now? Although I'm new to investing, I've heard that Universal Studios is adding a new park, which is exciting news for the stock. The park hasn't been opened since 2017, so maybe it's time to invest in CMCSA now? Let me know what you think, I'm still learning about investing.
