The modular angle is the real strategic bet
Haffner describes H6 as built for small-scale units up to 10 MW and aimed at local, modular, and profitable deployments. That is a very different positioning from large green-hydrogen megaprojects that depend on massive infrastructure, long permitting timelines, and highly specific site conditions.
The practical question is whether the equipment can sit near the customer and replace or complement existing heat duty without becoming a custom engineering exercise each time. That is the segment where deployment speed and local utility matter more than headline-scale hero numbers.
The market backdrop helps, but it does not do the work for Haffner
The broader renewable hydrogen market is forecast to grow from $7.9 billion in 2024 to $109.3 billion by 2034. That is large enough to matter, but it is not enough on its own to reward a technology that cannot prove repeatable performance.
So the boundary condition remains clear: favorable market growth helps, but the decisive test is still whether H6 can deliver on its stated economics outside the slide deck.
The next hurdle is commercial conversion, not concept appeal
CORE100 is a compelling commercial hook, but "potential" is not the same as revenue
The newest commercial catalyst is the CORE100 programme, which Haffner describes as a pre-order programme for the standardised manufacturing of 100 H6-based C-iC units. The company says that represents more than €300 million in potential revenue over three years and more than €90 million in potential gross margin.
That is significant, but investors still need to separate interest from realization. A pre-order programme can signal demand, yet it does not equal booked orders, delivery schedules, or cash collection. If those conversions start to show up, the business case improves materially. Until then, the numbers should be treated as promising rather than proven.
What to watch over the next 12–24 months
The clearest signals would be:
- stable commissioning progress at Marolles
- independent confirmation that the technical and economic assumptions hold in operation
- conversion of pre-orders into firm contracts
- early revenue or cash signals tied to standardized unit deliveries
If those boxes start to fill, the execution gap narrows. If not, H6 remains an interesting technology with attractive stated economics but still limited operating proof.
