Theme Description
Shale oil refers to the petroleum resources contained in shale formations, including the oil in shale pore spaces and fractures, as well as the oil in the tight carbonate or clastic rock layers adjacent to and interbedded with shale formations. When oil prices continue to recover, US shale oil producers will significantly increase their production. This is because, compared to traditional oil extraction methods, the production cost of shale oil is relatively low and can bring higher profits. That’s why shale oil producers will increase their output to gain greater profits when oil prices recover. However, related challenges, such as environmental pollution and social problems, still need to be addressed in shale oil extraction.
