The Timken Company was founded in 1899 by Henry Timken. Henry Timken has two patents on the design of tapered roller bearings. Based on its design capabilities and technical knowledge, the company has acquired a reputation as a global leader and applied its knowledge in metallurgy, friction management and mechanical energy transfer to improve the reliability and efficiency of customer equipment, improving productivity, uptime and performance in a range of applications and markets. The company's product portfolio includes energy transfer parts and systems, well-designed surfaces and coats, lubricants and seals, and after-sales services (including bearing and gearbox modification and repair). The company also manufactures helicopter transmissions, high-performance precision alloy steel bars and seamless mechanical pipes, as well as machined and semi-machined steel components to meet customers' growing demands for reliability and efficiency to accurate specifications.
