Cinemark Holdings, Inc., is a Delaware corporation incorporated on August 2, 2006. The company is one of the leaders in the film projection industry. There are theaters in the United States, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala and Bolivia. They operate in Mexican theaters until November 15, 2013, and the company selectively builds or acquires new theaters in the market where it can build and maintain a strong market position. In the year ended December 31, 2017, the company built eight new theaters with 66 screens and acquired three theaters with 26 screens. The company's significant and diverse presence makes its film studio an important distribution channel, especially considering the expanding market globally. The company's next-generation hall theaters have wall-to-wall and ceiling-to-floor screens in each auditorium, as well as the latest digital projection and sound technology. These theaters generally also have XD auditoriums.
