Saul Centers, Inc., was incorporated on June 10, 1993 under the General Corporation Law of the State of Maryland. Under the Tax Act, as amended in 1986, the company operates as a real estate trust (REIT) and is required to distribute not less than 90% of the REIT's taxable income (excluding return on net assets) to shareholders or to meet organizational and other requirements each year. The company has and intends to continue to distribute profits to shareholders on a quarterly basis. And the company along with its subsidiaries and limited partnerships. Among them, the company and one of its subsidiaries are the sole general partners of the corresponding limited partnership. Its main business is ownership, management and the development of profitable property.
