Argan, Inc., operates as a going concern through its wholly-owned subsidiaries, Gemma Power Systems, LLC (GPS) and its affiliates, and Southern Maryland Cable Company (SMC). Gemma Power Systems and its affiliates contribute substantially to the Company's consolidated net income. Through GPS, the company provides a full range of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, maintenance and consulting services to a wide range of customers in the power generation and renewable energy markets, including utility units and independent power generation project owners. The Argan Company was founded in Delaware in May 1961.
