Mercer International Inc., operates a pulp business and is the world's largest publicly traded manufacturer of commercial Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft (or NBSK) pulp. The Company is the sole producer of cowhide pulp and the sole producer of resale pulp (" commercial pulp ") in Germany, which is its largest pulp import market in Europe. Its operations are located in eastern Germany and western Canada. Rosenthal mill. As its wholly-owned subsidiary, it owns and operates a modern, efficient and ISO 9001 and 14001 certified NBSK pulp mill; in addition, the subsidiary is an important producer of "green" energy. Celgar mill. As its wholly-owned subsidiary, it owns and operates a modern, efficient and ISO 9001 certified NBSK pulp mill; at the same time, the subsidiary is also a producer of "green" energy. Stendal mill. 74.9% owned by it, owns and operates the most advanced, single-line and ISO 9001 and 14001 certified NBSK pulp mill in the country; and is also an important producer of "green" energy.
