Kaiser Aluminum Corporation is mainly engaged in the production of semi-processed professional aluminum products. The company was established in 1946. In addition to the product welding division, the company has three other business divisions, including: secondary aluminum division, hedging division and the company's regular division. The secondary aluminum business unit sells value-added products, such as some of the steel ingots and billets that the company acquired from Anglesey at higher than market prices. The hedging activities of the Company's hedging business unit are mainly based on the control of metal exposure risks associated with sales contracts to fixed price customers. The company's regular business departments provide comprehensive administrative support for its operations. The company summarizes some other types of businesses in the three business units of secondary aluminum, value preservation and general division into one category, which is called miscellaneous specialty. The company's product manufacturing division produces reels, extruded tubes and aluminum products for selected applications in aerospace, defense, automotive, consumer durables, electronics, electrical, machinery and equipment end markets. To sum up, the Product Welding Division focuses on four strategic end-service market segments, especially aviation/HS products, General Electric products, automotive aluminum and other products.
