Community Trust Bancorp, Inc., a bank holding company incorporated under the Bank Holding Company Act, as amended in 1956, is a bank holding company registered under the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. The company was established on August 12, 1980, in compliance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky governing the formation of bank holding companies. Currently, the company owns all the stock of a commercial bank and a trust company, serving mainly small and medium-sized enterprises in the eastern, northeastern, central and south-central regions of Kentucky, West Virginia and northeastern Tennessee. Its commercial bank is a community trust bank, and its trust company is a community trust and investment company. In fact, all assets, liabilities, income and expenses are related to the business of the bank, including loans, fund investment, deposit acquisition, trust and wealth management, a full range of economic business services and other financial activities. All of the company's sales offices and most of its operations are located in the eastern, northeastern, central and south-central regions of Kentucky, southwestern Virginia and northeastern Tennessee.
