The company mainly plans, directs and coordinates the business activities of its wholly-owned subsidiaries, Banner Bank and Islander Bank. The company became a public company in 1995. It is a regional bank that provides a wide range of commercial banking services and financial products to individuals, businesses and public sector entities in its main market areas. Islander Banks are community banks that provide similar banking services to individuals, businesses and public entities located in the San Juan Islands. The company's main business is a traditional banking institution, accepting deposits and making loans, with some offices in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Banks are also actively involved in the secondary market, engaging in mortgage banking mainly through the issuance and sale of residential loans from single apartments to families of four. A portion of the company's bank construction and mortgage lending activities are conducted through its subsidiary Community Finance Corporation (CFC), located in Lake Oswego, Portland, Oregon.
