TriplePoint Venture Growth BDC Corp., a Maryland corporation, was founded on June 28, 2013. The Company is structured as an externally managed, non-diversified, closed-end investment company and has elected to be considered a business development company (" BDC ") under the Investment Company Act of 1940, as amended. The company's investment objective is to maximize the total return to shareholders in the form of current income, mainly in the form of capital appreciation, by mainly lending to enterprises concentrated in technology, life sciences and other high-growth industries supported by TPC, and selecting a group of leading venture capital investors for capital appreciation. The Company is registered as an investment advisor under the 1940 Act and is externally managed by TPVGAdvisers LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of TPC. The advisor is responsible for sourcing, reviewing and structuring investment opportunities, underwriting and investing to conduct due diligence and monitor portfolios on an ongoing basis.
