The Southern Company was incorporated under the laws of the State of Delaware on November 9, 1945. The Company owns all of the outstanding common stock of Alabama Power Company, Georgia Power Company and Mississippi Power Company, all of which are operating utilities. These traditional electric operators provide electric service in Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi. In addition, Southern Company owns all the common shares of The Southern Company, which is also an operating utility company.
