The principal and interest payments on these RMBS are guaranteed by the Federal National Mortgage Association, the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation or the Government National Mortgage Association, and are primarily backed by single-family residential mortgages. The company refers to these types of RMBS as proxy RMBS. The Company's investment strategy focuses on and the Company's portfolio consists of two types of agency RMBS: (i) traditional pass-through agency RMBS and (ii) structured agency TERM3 such as secured collateralized debt obligations, interest-only securities, interest-only inverse securities and interest-only principal.
