Photronics, Inc., is a Connecticut organization founded in 1969. The company is the world's leading manufacturer of photomasks, which are high-precision photographic quartz or glass plates containing microscopic images of electronic circuits. The photomask is a key element in the manufacture of semiconductors and flat panel displays (" FPD "), and in the manufacturing process of integrated circuits (" IC "or" semiconductor "), the photomask is used as a master for transferring circuit patterns to semiconductor wafers and FPD substrates, various FPDs and to a lesser extent other types of electrical and optical components. The company has 11 manufacturing plants in Taiwan, China (3), South Korea, the United States (3), Europe (2), and has built 2 new plants in China.
