Investors Title Company was founded in North Carolina in 1973 and began operations in 1976 as a holding company when it acquired an investor title insurance company that had been operating since 1972, in exchange for the company's common stock, which it acquired as a wholly-owned subsidiary. In 1983, the company acquired the National Investor Title Insurance Company, formerly known as Northeast Investor Title Insurance Company, which started operations in 1973, in the same way. The company's main business is also its only business, namely the issuance of residential and commercial title insurance through ITIC and NITIC. In addition, the Company provides tax-deferred real estate transaction services through its affiliates, Investor Equity Exchange Corporation and Investor Equity Adjustment Corporation. Provide investment management and trust services to individuals, trusts and other institutions, and provide management services to title insurance institutions through its subsidiary, Investor Equity Management Services.
