Ascent Industries Co., a Delaware corporation incorporated in 1958, inherited the chemical manufacturing business established in 1945. Its purpose is permanent. The company's business is mainly divided into two parts, metals and specialty chemicals. The Metals Division operates as Bristol Metals LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Synalloy Metals and Ram-Fab LLC. Bristol manufactures pipes and weaves piping systems from stainless steel and other alloys, while Ram-Fab manufactures piping systems from carbon, chromium, stainless steel and other alloys. Markets in the metals sector include chemicals, petrochemicals, pulp and paper, mining, power generation, water and wastewater treatment, liquefied natural gas, brewing, food processing, petroleum, pharmaceuticals and other industries. Specialty Chemicals operates as Manufacturers Chemicals LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Manufacturers Soap and Chemical in Cleveland, Tennessee and Dalton, Georgia. The Specialty Chemicals segment produces specialty chemicals and dyes for the carpet, chemical, paper, metal, mining, agriculture, fiber, coatings, textile, automotive, petroleum, cosmetics, mattresses, furniture, cleaning and other industries.
