The "Zhejiang Experience" in Intellectual Property Protection Gains Recognition at WIPO Meeting

Zhejiang shared its experience in intellectual property rights (IPR) enforcement, promoting efficient cooperation between administrative enforcement and judicial protection, and establishing cooperation in enforcement. On February 4, 2021, in Geneva, Switzerland, the Zhejiang Administration for Industry and Commerce (Zhejiang Intellectual Property Office) was invited by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to make a keynote speech on "Local Practice of IPR Enforcement to Support Enterprise Innovation" at the 17th WIPO Enforcement Advisory Board Meeting. WIPO is the United Nations' authoritative agency in the field of intellectual property rights. This is the first time that the organization has invited a representative of a local intellectual property office to speak on the topic of enforcement, which reflects the recognition of Zhejiang's intellectual property protection work. The meeting attracted representatives from more than 100 countries and regions to exchange experiences in enhancing intellectual property awareness, enforcement policies and systems. Zhejiang shared its experience in conducting IPR enforcement, promoting efficient cooperation between administrative enforcement and judicial protection, and establishing cooperation in enforcement, especially in the protection of intellectual property rights on e-commerce platforms. Zhejiang has made useful explorations in cross-departmental and cross-regional cooperation. Under the rule of law, Zhejiang has established a collaborative enforcement ecosystem. The two local regulations on intellectual property rights have created 19 systems for the first time in the country, providing more channels and convenience for the protection of intellectual property rights for the parties concerned. The head of the Zhejiang Administration for Industry and Commerce (Zhejiang Intellectual Property Office) said that Zhejiang will continue to deepen the work of intellectual property rights enforcement and protect the intellectual property rights of domestic and foreign enterprises equally in accordance with the law, providing the best innovation environment and business environment for global people to invest and start businesses in Zhejiang.
