ZeroStack's $339 Million Deficit Turns 0G Treasury Into a Survival Bet

Cash, Not the Deficit Headline, Is the Immediate Warning
A $339.1 million accumulated deficit sounds alarming, but the sharper warning is the cash cushion: $2.6 million in cash.
The balance sheet leaves little room for delay
As of June 30, ZeroStackZSTK-- had $2.6 million in cash, negative working capital of $0.6 million, and an accumulated deficit of $339.1 million. It also reported a net loss of $61.3 million for the first half of the year, including an $82.5 million loss from the fair value revaluation of cryptocurrencies. That is why management disclosed substantial doubts about its ability to continue operations. This is now as much a liquidity story as a balance-sheet story.
Concentration is both the thesis and the risk
The bullish view is that ZeroStack's asset base is being underestimated. The company entered $107 million financing transaction anchored by 0G Tokens, and after closing it held approximately 21% of the total 0G token supply, which outside reporting described as roughly a fifth of the 0G supply. If 0G0G-- proves valuable, that concentration matters.

The bearish view is that the same concentration creates a going-concern problem. A company with minimal cash and highlighted liquidity risk cannot easily ignore the fact that its treasury is concentrated in one volatile asset. For now, financing and liquidity matter more than narrative.
Staking Yield Is the Main Cushion, but It May Not Be Big Enough
With the balance sheet tight, staking yield is the clearest recurring cash source ZeroStack can point to.
What the yield math actually shows
ZeroStack said it earned 3.2 million 0G tokens from staking since staking began on Jan. 21, 2026, at a reported approximately 22% APY. Using the period's average token price, that equals approximately $2.2 million, or approximately $50,000 per day. Annualized, the rewards amount to approximately 27 million 0G Tokens per annum. On paper, that looks like a meaningful recurring stream rather than a purely speculative holding.
Why yield alone may not solve the problem
The issue is not whether the yield is real; it is whether yield can replace unrealized gains quickly enough to ease a cash squeeze. In the first half of the year, staking produced 6.62 million 0G in rewards valued at $3.8 million after validator fees. But management also said it sold 4.94 million tokens from a separate rewards wallet, earning $2.4 million to help fund operations. That suggests reward generation helps, but it does not fully remove the need to monetize tokens.
Why liquidity matters more than compounding
ZeroStack said it relied on monetizing staking rewards to fund operations and meet obligations and may also sell core digital assets if needed. It also said the liquidity of those sources depends on the market price of 0G and trading activity, and management said it could not conclude that those sources would be sufficient. In other words, tokens that compoundCOMP-- while staked are not the same as cash the company can use on demand.
The Market Is Pricing 0G Liquidity and Funding Risk
Valuation reflects the cash problem first
At a roughly $12 million market capitalization, ZeroStack is not being valued like a mature AI platform with future optionality. It is being valued like a company with substantial doubts about its ability to continue operations and a treasury concentrated in approximately 21% of the total 0G token supply. That is what makes the setup so asymmetric: if management shows the token book can support the business without a forced unwind, the stock could rerate. If not, equity remains a survival trade.
Financing, not AI storytelling, is the next catalyst
The next near-term test is whether management can turn up to approximately $14.7 million in German pharmaceutical purchase orders into funded inventory using non-dilutive forms of financing. That would create a more tangible operating stream without immediately diluting common holders. But the same disclosure also warned there is no assurance that financing will be secured on acceptable terms.
What would actually change the story
The bearish case weakens only if cash flow improves enough to show the treasury is helping fund operations rather than merely postpone pressure. Until then, the clearest signals are:
0G watchpoints - Whether management needs to sell rewards again after already selling 4.94 million tokens to help cover operating expenses. - Whether market depth and trading activity support the liquidity management says it needs from the market price of 0G and trading activity. - Whether the company's approximately 21% of the total 0G token supply position looks more like strategic sponsorship or later selling pressure.
ZSTK watchpoints - Whether $2.6 million in cash lasts long enough for other plans to matter. - Whether financing for the German orders actually closes on acceptable terms. - Whether operating losses improve enough to reduce pressure on the going-concern situation.
For now, the balance of the story is simple: ZeroStack's equity performance depends much more on liquidity execution than on AI narrative alone.
