The New Zealand Youth Choir won the Grand Prix of Nations at the European Choir Games in Aarhus, Denmark, scoring 97.50 out of 100 in the Folklore section. The choir, consisting of 130 groups and 6,000 participants from 35 countries, was considered the "Olympic Games of choral music." Choirs Aotearoa NZ chief executive Arne Hermann said the choir's mix of Pacific songs and waiata convinced the judges.
