Youmio Selects Avalanche to Launch First AI Agent-Focused Blockchain

Youmio, a newly launched Layer 1 blockchain designed as the first platform dedicated to AI agents, has partnered with Avalanche to deploy its infrastructure. The chain positions itself as a foundational framework for autonomous agents, enabling them to interact across applications, games, and digital ecosystems. Michael O’Connor, co-founder and CEO of Youmio, emphasized that the platform addresses critical trust and privacy challenges in AI by anchoring agent identity, memory, and provenance onchain while giving users control over privacy settings [1]. Unlike traditional blockchains, Youmio structures its protocol around agent behavior, assigning each agent a wallet, modular skills, and an evolving metadata state. Outputs can optionally be minted as cryptographic proofs, ensuring transparency and verifiability [2].

Avalanche’s infrastructure was selected for its capacity to support real-time coordination of agents, leveraging its low latency, high-speed transactions, and consensus finality. The platform’s existing ecosystem—over 6 million funded wallets and 3 million monthly active users—provides a scalable foundation for agent-native systems. Luigi DeMeo of Ava Labs praised Youmio for designing a purpose-built environment for AI agents rather than retrofitting existing blockchain models, enabling “massive tokenization of AI agents” on Avalanche [3].

The first application on Youmio’s chain is a launchpad for creating 3D AI characters called Mios. These characters are multi-agentic, capable of evolving through interaction, developing personalities, and moving across digital environments. The platform also introduces an agent-token model where a single token can represent an ecosystem of linked agents, with rewards tied to usage, behavior, or creator-defined rules [4].

To accelerate development, O’Connor joined the investment committee of InfraBUIDL(AI), a $15 million initiative by the Avalanche Foundation. This collaboration aims to fund builders pushing the boundaries of agent capabilities while shaping Youmio into the leading agent chain. Youmio will work closely with the Avalanche Foundation to provide capital, infrastructure, and distribution to external creators, fostering a network of agent-driven applications [5].

Youmio’s broader mission is to create a transparent ecosystem for AI agents, addressing risks around trust, security, and privacy by anchoring agent authorship and provenance onchain. Through its launchpad, users can design 3D AI characters that evolve through interactions and maintain memory and context across platforms. Avalanche’s architecture, which enables rapid deployment of sovereign, interoperable L1 blockchains, aligns with Youmio’s vision of a composable, high-performance blockchain future [6].
