Youmio Partners with Avalanche to Launch First Layer 1 Chain for AI Agents

Youmio, a blockchain platform designed to enable AI agents as core participants in digital ecosystems, has partnered with Avalanche to deploy its first Layer 1 (L1) chain specifically tailored for autonomous software agents. The collaboration leverages Avalanche’s infrastructure to address scalability, speed, and interoperability needs, positioning Youmio as the first blockchain to natively support AI agents as protocol-level entities. The initiative includes the development of Mios, 3D AI characters capable of evolving across applications and games, and an agent-token model where rewards are tied to usage or creator-defined rules [1].

Michael O’Connor, co-founder and CEO of Youmio, emphasized the necessity of open infrastructure for AI agents, stating that without such systems, agents risk being controlled by centralized entities. Youmio’s architecture assigns each agent a wallet, modular skills, and an evolving metadata state, with outputs optionally minted as cryptographic proofs. This approach contrasts with general-purpose L1s, which are not optimized for agent behavior [1].
