William Bardeen, CFO, provided guidance for Q3, expecting digital-only subscription revenues to increase 13% to 16%, and total subscription revenues to increase 8% to 10%. Digital advertising revenues are projected to grow in the low double digits, total advertising in the low to mid-single digits, and affiliate licensing and other revenues in high single digits. Adjusted operating costs are expected to rise 5% to 6%.

The company's ambitious approach to video, including news videos, full-length shows, and enhanced video experiences in lifestyle products, has been a key driver of growth. A multiyear deal with Amazon centered on generative AI is expected to bring Times journalism, recipes, and sports coverage to Amazon's platforms and foundation models.

The company's outlook remains positive, with management expressing confidence in achieving its goal of 15 million subscribers by 2027. The Amazon AI partnership is seen as a significant opportunity for growth, with the company emphasizing control over how its content is used.
