XRP News Today: XRP Ledger's 4B Transactions Power Grayscale ETF Expansion

Grayscale Investments has intensified the crypto ETF race with the launch of two new exchange-traded products (ETPs)-the Grayscale XRP Trust ETFGXRP-- (GXRP) and Grayscale Dogecoin Trust ETFGDOG-- (GDOG)-on NYSE Arca. The debut marks a significant expansion of the firm's crypto offerings, joining a surge of altcoin-focused funds as regulatory barriers ease and institutional interest grows. GXRPGXRP-- and GDOGGDOG-- began trading on November 24, 2025, following regulatory approvals and conversions from existing private placement trusts.
The XRPXRP-- Ledger (XRPL), which underpins GXRP, recently hit a milestone of 4 billion processed transactions since its 2012 launch. XRPL, designed for cross-border payments and high-throughput financial activity, lacks general-purpose smart contract capabilities but offers features like token issuance, a decentralized exchange, and NFT support. XRP, the ledger's native asset, facilitates transaction fees and acts as a liquidity bridge between fiat currencies.
The launches coincide with a broader wave of crypto ETF activity. At least five spot ETFs targeting assets like XRP, SolanaSOL--, and DogecoinDOGE-- are set to debut in the next six days, with analysts projecting over 100 such products in the coming six months. Competitors like Bitwise, Franklin Templeton, and Amplify have also entered the space. Bitwise's XRP ETFXRP-- (XRPZ) and Amplify's XRP 3% Monthly Premium Income ETF (XRPM)-the first option-based XRP fund-launched earlier this month.
Market dynamics remain mixed. XRP's price fell to $1.85 in early November, an 18% drop for the month, while Dogecoin traded below $0.15, struggling to break key technical levels. Despite this, Grayscale's XRP and Dogecoin ETFs face strong competition, with Canary Capital's XRPC ETF reporting $250 million in inflows on its first day.
Regulatory shifts have accelerated approvals. The SEC's post-government-shutdown approach, including "Project Crypto" rule updates, has streamlined the approval process. This environment has emboldened issuers, with Grayscale planning further launches, including a Chainlink (LINK) ETF.
The ETF surge reflects growing institutional acceptance of altcoins. XRP's role in real-time liquidity and Dogecoin's meme-driven appeal highlight diverse use cases for crypto exposure. Yet risks persist: ETPs like GXRP and GDOG do not offer direct ownership of underlying tokens, and market volatility remains a concern.
With over 100 crypto ETFs expected in the next half-year, the landscape is shifting toward mainstream adoption. As Krista Lynch noted, these products aim to simplify access for investors while reflecting the maturation of blockchain networks like XRPL.
