Gemini, the cryptocurrency exchange co-founded by Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, has launched a limited-edition XRP-themed credit card in partnership with Ripple and
. The card, issued by WebBank, offers users cashback rewards in , with up to 4% on purchases including fuel, electric vehicle charging, and rideshares, 3% on dining, and 2% on groceries [1]. This initiative marks the first XRP-focused version of the Gemini credit card, reflecting a strategic effort to deepen the token’s integration into everyday spending [2].The product incorporates Ripple’s XRP and RLUSD, a U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin launched in 2024. RLUSD is now supported for spot trading in the U.S., allowing users to trade the stablecoin against other assets without incurring conversion fees [3]. Gemini’s decision to include RLUSD aligns with Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse’s vision to expand the adoption of XRP and RLUSD within the broader financial system [4].
To encourage adoption, Gemini is offering a $200 sign-up bonus in XRP to users who spend $3,000 within the first 90 days of opening the card [5]. The card is available in all 50 U.S. states and Puerto Rico and is compatible with major digital payment platforms such as
Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay [6]. Gemini also plans to collaborate with select merchants to offer up to 10% back in XRP on eligible purchases, further enhancing the token’s utility [7].The XRP edition of the Gemini credit card comes as the firm expands its product offerings, including tokenized U.S. stock trading and securing a MiCA license in Malta to support its European growth [8]. The move is also seen as a strategic step toward Gemini’s anticipated U.S. public listing. RLUSD, with a current market cap of $680 million, is being integrated into Gemini’s trading platform to serve as a bridge between fiat and crypto assets [9].
This launch coincides with a broader trend of crypto-native financial tools designed to increase the accessibility and utility of digital assets in daily life. By leveraging its established relationship with Mastercard, Gemini aims to reach a wider audience of U.S. consumers while reinforcing XRP’s role in the post-SEC legal settlement environment, where the token has seen growing real-world adoption and institutional interest [10].
