Ripple has further embedded itself into South Korea’s
ecosystem as BDACS, a regulated institutional-grade crypto custodian, has launched full XRP custody services for institutional clients in the country [1]. This development, which came into effect on August 5, marks a significant milestone for Ripple as it expands its footprint in one of Asia’s most dynamic crypto markets. The custody offering is part of a broader partnership between Ripple and BDACS announced earlier this year on February 26, aimed at advancing institutional adoption of blockchain solutions within South Korea’s evolving regulatory environment [7].The move positions XRP as a regulated and secure digital asset for institutional use in the region. By integrating Ripple Custody—a platform designed to help institutions manage digital assets—BDACS now provides a compliant and secure infrastructure for Korean institutions to store and manage XRP [2]. Ripple’s Fiona Murray, Managing Director for Asia-Pacific, emphasized the growing crypto activity and regulatory maturity in South Korea as key factors driving the partnership [3]. BDACS CEO Harry Ryoo added that the company is committed to delivering compliant, secure services while supporting Ripple’s broader blockchain initiatives.
This collaboration aligns with South Korea’s Financial Services Commission roadmap, which promotes institutional participation in digital assets under strict regulatory oversight [4]. Ripple has previously highlighted how such partnerships are essential to its global strategy of expanding cross-border payment solutions and digital asset infrastructure for institutional participants [3]. The launch of XRP custody also sets the stage for future integrations, including support for Ripple’s stablecoin, RLUSD, which is pegged to the U.S. dollar [1].
Beyond Ripple, BDACS has been actively engaging with other blockchain platforms, including Avalanche, Polymesh, and Woori Bank, as well as participating in blockchain projects within Busan’s regulation-free zone [4]. These efforts underscore BDACS’ role as a key player in Korea’s institutional crypto space and its broader ambition to serve as a central custodian for digital assets.
From a market perspective, the addition of XRP custody by BDACS has been seen as a catalyst for broader on-chain finance and DeFi infrastructure adoption in South Korea [1]. Ripple has noted that this move enhances XRP’s utility and aligns with growing demand for secure, regulated digital asset services [2]. Analyst Egrag Crypto has pointed out that XRP is currently forming a double bottom pattern on the four-hour chart, suggesting potential for a renewed upward trend if the price remains above $3 [5]. However, a drop below $2.80 could threaten this bullish scenario [6].
Currently, XRP trades at $2.97, down 3.4% in the last 24 hours, as the market digests the new developments. The institutional-grade custody solution offered by BDACS not only enhances XRP’s appeal for institutional investors but also reinforces confidence in the token’s long-term viability [7]. With BDACS integrated across top South Korean exchanges, XRP’s accessibility for institutional participants has expanded significantly, further supporting Ripple’s mission to bring the XRP Ledger to mainstream financial systems [8].
This expansion into institutional custody services in South Korea highlights Ripple’s strategic focus on regulatory compliance and institutional adoption. As the XRP Ledger continues to gain traction, secure custody options are expected to play a key role in fostering trust among

The collaboration with BDACS signals a growing acceptance of digital assets within traditional financial systems, aligning with Ripple’s broader vision of cross-border and institutional-grade blockchain solutions [9].Source: [1] BDACS Launches XRP Custody for Institutions in Korea, CoinDesk, (https://www.coindesk.com/business/2025/08/06/ripple-s-partnership-with-bdacs-pays-off-as-xrp-support-goes-live-at-korean-crypto-custodian)
