XRP and
(XLM) remain prominent players in the blockchain-based cross-border payments space, but they now face a growing challenge from a newer entrant, Remittix (RTX). Analysts are closely watching how these projects evolve in late 2025 as the crypto market continues to favor real-world utility and scalability. is currently trading at $2.84, with a market capitalization of $168.98 billion and a 6.1% increase in trading volume to $6.8 billion in the last 30 days [1]. In contrast, Stellar (XLM) is at $0.3618, with a market cap of $11.48 billion and a trading volume that has dropped 11.71% to $278.56 million [1]. These figures reflect the shifting dynamics of investor interest and the volatility inherent in the altcoin space.Remittix has emerged as a disruptive force with a presale that has raised over $23.6 million and sold 643 million tokens, signaling strong market confidence [1]. The project is positioned as a DeFi-based solution focused on real-world crypto-to-fiat payments. Unlike XRP and XLM, which have long dominated the cross-border payment arena, Remittix is preparing to launch a beta wallet in the third quarter of 2025. The wallet will support over 40 cryptocurrencies and 30 fiat currencies, with live foreign exchange conversions, allowing users to make seamless global transfers [1]. This practical application has attracted attention from both investors and institutional stakeholders, with analysts noting that Remittix is moving beyond speculative trading and into real-world utility.
Ripple, the firm behind XRP, is also expanding its reach with the Ripple USD (RLUSD) stablecoin, which now has a total supply exceeding $700 million. The stablecoin has been integrated into several African markets through partnerships with Chipper Cash, VALR, and Yellow Card [2]. Ripple claims that RLUSD is being used for treasury operations, remittances, and as collateral for tokenized assets such as commodities and securities. This move is particularly strategic in emerging markets where access to reliable banking infrastructure is limited, and digital currencies offer a more cost-effective alternative. Additionally, Mercy Corps is trialing RLUSD in blockchain-powered insurance programs in Kenya, where payouts are automatically triggered by satellite data indicating drought or extreme weather events [2].
The competition between XRP, XLM, and
highlights a broader trend in the crypto industry: the increasing demand for projects that offer tangible economic benefits. While XRP and XLM have established themselves through institutional partnerships and widespread adoption in cross-border remittances, Remittix is carving out a niche by combining DeFi with real-world payment solutions. Its presale success, combined with the imminent launch of its beta wallet, has positioned it as a strong contender in the PayFi space. Analysts are particularly drawn to its potential to facilitate real-time crypto-to-bank transfers in over 30 countries [1], a capability that could attract both retail and institutional users seeking faster, cheaper alternatives to traditional banking systems.Despite the growing interest in Remittix, it has yet to list on major centralized exchanges like BitMart and LBank [1]. However, the project is expected to do so soon, which should increase liquidity and visibility in the market. The project is also maintaining a $250,000 community giveaway to drive engagement, further reinforcing its community-driven approach [1]. In contrast, Ripple and Stellar have more established market presence but are now facing competition from a project that is leveraging DeFi infrastructure and real-world applications to disrupt the traditional cross-border payment landscape.
