XRP Ledger Gains 25% RWA Holders as Stablecoin Cap Hits $901.4M-But Volume Is the Problem

XRPL holder growth is strong, but transfer volume is the bottleneck
This is XRP's current choke point. RWA holders rose 23% to 197 while RWA transfer volume fell 96.88% to $18.15 million. Participation is still showing up, but liquidity activity has narrowed sharply.
Why bulls see a future setup
If tokenized assets keep accumulating on the ledger, today's held balances could eventually create settlement demand. In that view, holder growth is a leading signal even while current flows remain weak.
Why bears focus on the missing flow
Assets that sit still do not meaningfully support throughput, deepen market depth, or create recurring XRPXRP-- demand. In the same period, XRP's price fell 4.42% as RWA transfer volume dropped from $581.5 million to $18.15 million. The market is reflecting that flow problem more than the participation story.
The real question is whether held balances turn into repeat settlement volume soon. If they do, XRPL can start to look less like a dormant ledger and more like a high-value rail. If not, rising holder count remains more promise than immediate support.
XRP Ledger's six-month RWA gains still matter
The flow problem is real, but it is not the whole story.
Issuance growth shows XRPL is winning record-layer demand
Over the past six months, the XRP Ledger added about $2.6 billion in tokenized RWA value, excluding stablecoins, putting it second among tracked blockchains for net inflows. By late July, combined distributed and represented RWA value had reached about $4.38 billion. If issuers keep choosing XRPL as the record layer, that positioning could matter before trading activity fully catches up.

The recent surge looks more institutional than speculative
In the last 30 days, XRPL's represented asset value jumped 276.75%, helping it surpass SolanaSOL-- on total RWA value. Represented assets are recorded on-chain but are not freely transferable outside an issuer's participant set, so this is different from high-turnover DeFi. That structure fits how institutions often start: with controlled issuance, compliance gating, and reconciliation use cases before broader transfer activity.
The issuer mix supports that view, with CRX Digital Assets leading XRPL RWA products, Ondo Finance in third position, and tokenized Treasuries showing up among the top asset classes. For bulls, this looks like infrastructure adoption rather than retail turnover.
What still needs to mature
The revaluation trigger is not more holder accounts by itself; it is broader circulation. The ledger still needs more freely tradable issuance and secondary activity for today's notional lead to become recurring settlement demand.
Stablecoin balances are present, but flow decides the near-term case
The key price question is whether XRPL can turn its balances into recurring settlement. The ledger holds $995.12 million in stablecoins, above the $901.4 million headline stablecoin market cap mentioned in the headline. That is useful liquidity, but it is not the same as repeated XRP-driven transaction demand.
Bulls see a ready funding base that can rotate through payments and secondary trades. Bears see parked capital that may settle value without becoming durable demand for XRP. With RWA transfer volume at $18.15 million, the setup still looks more like a small tap than a flood.
That is why the current read remains cautious. If held balances start moving more consistently, XRP could rerate quickly because the market is still judging XRPL by weak flow. But for now, capital sitting on-ledger is promising; capital moving through the system is what matters most for price and network utilization.
