XRP's top 1% threshold is slipping

XRP is the only one of the two assets here with current wallet-distribution evidence. To enter the top 1% of XRP holders, a wallet needed 44,823 XRP in the latest snapshot, down from roughly 46,400 XRP. That decline suggests the threshold is moving lower, even if the broader investment case is still debated.

The concentration is still striking. The latest XRP Ledger data shows 8,043,560 funded addresses and 99.99bn XRP under control, while the largest single holder still has 5.00bn XRP, worth about $5.24bn. That can be read two ways: as holders staying patient, or as supply remaining unusually concentrated at the top. Both interpretations are consistent with the same dataset.

Why the holder gap matters more than the headline price

The more useful read here is not the token price alone, but how much wealth is needed to reach a meaningful position in the holder distribution. XRP already presents a larger-holder accessibility edge versus Stellar, but the bigger tension is the gap between broadening participation lower in the distribution and heavy supply still sitting in the largest wallets.

If those top-tier thresholds keep slipping while giant wallets remain dormant, the setup is straightforward: either wider distribution meets tighter circulating supply, or concentration eventually gives way to a larger sell-pressure event. That is the core trade embedded in the numbers.
