XRG, owned by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, will acquire a 7.6% equity interest in Trains 4 and 5 of NextDecade's Rio Grande LNG project in Texas. The energy investment company aims to bolster its position in the global LNG market. The acquisition follows XRG's earlier investment in phase one of the project, where it purchased an indirect 11.7% stake in Trains 1-3 through Global Infrastructure Partners. The Rio Grande LNG facility is expected to generate over 5,000 construction jobs and approximately 700 long-term positions.
