XPeng shares rose 0.7% in premarket trading after unveiling its next-generation P7 sedan, described as "another game changer" by Jefferies. The firm reiterated Xpeng as its "top pick OEM" and expects the company to turn its first quarterly profit in Q4 2025 [3].

The new P7 sedan is set to debut on August 6, 2025, and is expected to support both urban and highway Navigate on Pilot (NGP) functions along with other driver assistance features. It will be offered in a single-motor version with 270 kW of power, as well as a dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant combining a 167 kW front motor with a 270 kW rear motor. The car is expected to compete in the 300,000 yuan ($41,800) range [1].

The strong pre-order response highlights the importance of the P7 nameplate to XPeng’s broader strategy. After a period of expanding its model range, the company is now seeking to reassert the P7’s place as a flagship sedan that balances driver-centric performance with advanced digital features [2].

XPeng has seen strong delivery growth this year, with 233,906 vehicles delivered in the first seven months, up 270.26 percent year-on-year. The company aims to double its deliveries in 2025 compared to 2024 [3].
