Wix's 60% Base44 Margin Target vs. 15% Growth: Is the AI Bet Finally Paying Off?

Base44's margin path is the new test for Wix
A ~60% non-GAAP gross margin target matters only if WixWIX-- can keep growing at roughly the same pace. That is what makes this quarter notable: Base44 is starting to look less like an AI narrative and more like a business with an improving profit path.
Wix delivered a 1.9% revenue beat, along with a 15.3% beat on adjusted EPS, and pointed to about 60% non-GAAP gross margin in the second half for Base44, up from roughly 0% at the start of 2026. For investors, the key question is no longer just whether Base44 can grow. It is whether the segment can become meaningfully more profitable without slowing the company's overall growth trajectory.
Base 1 appears to be the turning point
The reason this update matters now is simple: Wix showed progress on both growth and economics at the same time. Revenue still expanded in the mid-teens, while management highlighted cost control improvements tied to Base 1, Base44's proprietary LLM.
That combination matters because a software market can reward top-line growth with excitement, but re-ratings tend to strengthen when investors see evidence that AI revenue can convert into better margins. If Wix maintains low-to-mid-teens revenue growth and continues moving Base44 toward the 60% target, the market has a clearer case for valuing profitability alongside growth.
