Wipro Ltd, a leading AI-powered technology services and consulting company, has entered into an agreement to acquire the Digital Transformation Solutions (DTS) business unit of Harman, a Samsung company. The acquisition, valued at $375 million, aims to enhance Wipro's engineering research and development (ER&D) services and expand its global footprint in high-growth sectors [1].
The DTS unit, headquartered in Connecticut, USA, specializes in digital engineering, embedded software, and AI-driven solutions. With a strong presence in multiple countries and diverse sectors, DTS reported a consolidated revenue of USD 314.5 million in CY24. The acquisition will bring over 5,600 DTS employees, including key leadership, to Wipro, subject to regulatory approvals [2].
Wipro's CEO, Srini Pallia, noted that the integration of DTS will significantly enhance the company's value proposition to clients. "Their specialized engineering expertise, combined with Wipro’s consulting-led, AI-powered capabilities, will significantly enhance the value we deliver to clients," he said. The acquisition is expected to close by December 31, 2025 [2].
The DTS unit brings a robust foundation in digital engineering and ER&D, with strengths spanning domain-led design, connected products, and software platforms.
