A wildfire in N.W.T. forced the evacuation of Whatì four days ago, but crews and volunteers are still in the community, keeping alert and ready to act. A controlled burn was conducted to create a break in the vegetation, and the fire is now eight kilometers south of the community. Local firefighters patrolled during the burn and set up sprinklers and hoses to protect against stray embers or ash.
