West Bengal to conduct hearings for 32 lakh unmapped voters from Dec 27

The West Bengal government has initiated a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, targeting 32 lakh unmapped voters. Hearings for this category will begin from December 27. The proceedings will be conducted at various locations, including district magistrates' offices, government departments, schools, and colleges. Around 10 lakh notices have already been sent, while another 22 lakh notices will be issued from Tuesday. The Election Commission has sought guidelines for the next phase, which will involve voters with logical discrepancies.
