The Wendy's Company (WEN) released unaudited results for Q2 2025, with international systemwide sales increasing 8.7% and operating profit at $104.3 million, up 4.8% YoY. The company added 44 new restaurants and expects global net unit growth of 2% - 3% for FY 2025. However, growth was partly mitigated by a decline in franchise royalty revenue and reduced US Company-operated restaurant margin.

The Wendy's Company (WEN) has released its unaudited results for the second quarter (Q2) of 2025, showcasing a mix of growth and challenges. The company reported international systemwide sales increasing by 8.7%, while operating profit reached $104.3 million, up 4.8% year-over-year (YoY) [2]. The company also added 44 new restaurants, bringing the total additions to 118 in the first half of 2025 [2].

However, the growth was partially mitigated by a decline in franchise royalty revenue and reduced US Company-operated restaurant margin. Total revenues for Q2 2025 stood at $560.9 million, a decrease of 1.7% compared to the previous year, primarily due to lower US company-operated restaurant sales and lower franchise royalty revenue [1].

The Wendy's Company's interim CEO, Ken Cook, stated that while the company is encouraged by the strong momentum in its International business, it has work to do to improve the overall performance of the business in the US. The company expects global net unit growth of 2% to 3% for the fiscal year 2025, with capital expenditures and franchise development fund investments in the range of $165 million to $175 million [2].
