U.S. Weekly EIA Heating Oil Stocks Change Actual 102, Previous -503.

Midstream energy company MPLX (MPLX) saw its shares rise by 1.6% to $51.59 on July 2, 2025, following an announcement that Harvest Midstream has agreed to purchase $1 billion worth of natural gas gathering and processing assets from MPLX. The acquisition includes assets in the Uinta and Green River basins across Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado, with a processing capacity of 1.2 billion cubic feet per day [1].

Harvest Midstream will dedicate approximately 12,000 barrels per day of natural gas liquids from these assets to MPLX for seven years, starting from 2028. The transaction is expected to enhance MPLX's operational efficiency and cash flow, contributing to its long-term growth prospects.

Prior to the announcement, MPLX shares had already seen a 6% year-to-date increase. The deal underscores the company's strategic focus on optimizing its asset portfolio and aligning with market trends in natural gas processing.
