Webull Corporation has reintegrated cryptocurrency trading into its main platform for U.S. users, marking the return of
capabilities following a two-year suspension [4]. The move aims to streamline the user experience by allowing customers to manage both traditional and crypto assets within a single application [1]. The platform now supports over 50 digital assets, including major cryptocurrencies like and [3]. This decision builds on recent regulatory clarity in the U.S. and Brazil, which has enabled to stabilize its digital asset strategy and provide a more cohesive trading environment [7].The decision to reintegrate crypto trading follows the company’s earlier removal of the service in 2023 during its IPO attempt [6]. At that time, regulatory uncertainty in the United States forced Webull to move digital asset trading to a standalone application called Webull Pay. This move proved unpopular with U.S. customers, many of whom preferred managing all their investments in one place [4]. According to Anthony Denier, US CEO and Group President at Webull, the discontinuation of crypto trading was “against what our customers were asking for” and its return represents a “natural sort of return to what our clients expect” [4].
Before reinstating crypto for its U.S. users, Webull tested the reintegration strategy in Brazil, where cryptocurrency trading has been available since June [4]. The successful launch in Brazil provided management with the confidence to extend the service to U.S. customers. The company also completed a corporate restructuring in July, merging Webull Pay LLC into the parent company. This consolidation created the necessary infrastructure for a seamless trading experience, allowing U.S. users to access over 50 digital assets directly from the main app [4].
The reintegration allows U.S. investors to trade cryptocurrencies around the clock, seven days a week, alongside traditional financial products such as stocks, ETFs, options, and futures [4]. Stephen Yip, CEO of Webull Pay, emphasized that this change aligns with how modern investors prefer to manage their portfolios, viewing cryptocurrencies as an essential part of diversified investment strategies rather than a separate asset class requiring specialized platforms [4]. In addition, Webull’s return to U.S. crypto trading comes at a time when the regulatory environment has become more favorable for digital assets. The company noted that improved clarity in cryptocurrency regulations both domestically and internationally underpins the decision to bring trading back to its main platform [7].
By consolidating crypto trading into its main app, Webull aligns itself with other major retail brokerages such as
and , which have long offered integrated access to both traditional securities and digital assets [4]. The company has also partnered with Derivatives to expand offerings beyond spot trading, providing U.S. retail investors with access to Bitcoin and Ethereum futures [2]. This strategic move positions Webull as a competitive player in the evolving intersection of traditional and digital finance [2].Source:
