Wayfair Inc. (NYSE:W) is making significant strides in leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) to drive referral traffic to its e-commerce platform. According to a recent report by Jefferies analyst Jonathan Matuszewski, Wayfair is leading its coverage universe in monetizing LLM traffic, with 20% of referral visits to Wayfair.com originating from AI-driven tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity AI winner: Wayfair sees a surge of traffic from LLMs such as ChatGPT and Perplexity[1].

Matuszewski's analysis reveals that in August 2025, LLMs generated more than 500,000 visits to Wayfair.com in the United States. This represents a substantial increase from August 2024, when the ratio of LLM traffic was just 1%. The report also notes that consumers referred by LLMs visit more pages per session and have lower bounce rates on e-commerce sites compared to those visiting via non-A.I. referrals. Additionally, conversion rates from LLM referrals are improving, indicating a growing effectiveness of these AI-driven tools in driving sales.

Wayfair's co-founder and CEO, Niraj Shah, has confirmed collaborations with OpenAI and Perplexity, which are expected to optimize both conversion and advertising spend. Jefferies has a Buy rating on Wayfair (NYSE:W) with a price target of $91. Shares of Wayfair (W) were up 0.6% in premarket trading to $88.90, compared to the 52-week range of $20.41 to $91.77.
