Wawa has debuted a new credit card through a partnership with First National Bank of Omaha, offering savings of 50 cents per gallon at Wawa fuel pumps, 3 points per dollar spent inside Wawa c-stores, and 1 point per dollar spent elsewhere. The card provides additional benefits, including Mastercard Global Service and Zero Liability Protection, and aims to give customers more value, convenience, and security.
Wawa, the Delaware County convenience store chain, has announced a new credit card partnership with the First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO). The Wawa Mastercard, as it is called, aims to provide customers with significant savings and rewards, aligning with the brand's value proposition.
Key features of the Wawa Mastercard include:
- Fuel Savings: Cardholders will enjoy a 50-cent savings per gallon at Wawa fuel pumps for the first 30 days, with ongoing 5-cent savings per gallon thereafter.
- Rewards Points: Customers can earn 3 points per dollar spent inside Wawa c-stores and 1 point per dollar spent elsewhere where Mastercard is accepted.
- Gift Cards: For every 2,500 points earned, customers will receive a $25 Wawa Gift Card, redeemable at Wawa stores or on the Wawa app.
- Mastercard Network Benefits: Cardholders will benefit from Mastercard Global Service, Mastercard ID Theft Protection, and Zero Liability Protection.
The partnership comes nearly two years after Wawa and Mastercard were involved in a court case stemming from a 2019 data breach. Wawa had accused Mastercard of breach of contract and other charges, but the lawsuit was dismissed in late 2023.
"We are deeply appreciative of our customers and thrilled to launch a credit card experience that aligns with what they value most," said Preston Hawkins, Wawa Treasurer. "Together with FNBO and Mastercard, we’re delivering a card that fuels real savings while fulfilling the everyday moments our customers enjoy—whether it’s a morning coffee, a lunch stop, or a weekend fuel-up."
This new partnership reflects FNBO's commitment to building payment solutions that enhance customer loyalty and align with partners' brand values. "This partnership with Wawa and Mastercard reflects what FNBO takes deep pride in: building payment solutions that align with our partners' brand values and enhance customer loyalty," said Jerry O’Flanagan, executive vice president at FNBO.
